Five-Treasure, says the front. Flip it round, though, and you’ll count seven: red jujube (red dates, basically), goji berries, mulberries, maca root, poria, Solomon’s seal and cultivated Panax ginseng. Two freebies, then. Nobody’s sending it back over that.

Comes in a white zip-up pouch from ZAM Trading, with a little see-through window so you can spot the red-tagged pyramid bags inside. There’s 20 of them, 5g apiece, so 100g all in. Made in Anhui, China, which is more or less where Chinese herbal teas call home.

Taste? Soft and a touch sweet, mostly thanks to the dates, goji and mulberries. The ginseng gives it a slightly earthy, rooty sort of backbone. Not bitter, mind. You’ll not be hunting for the sugar bowl.
