Five-Treasure, the front says. Turn the box round, squint at the small print, and you’ll find eight: ginseng, maca, mulberry leaf, goji berry, red date, longan, licorice and angelica. Three extra, then. Nobody’s sending it back over that.

Brews up a warmish amber, faintly sweet (that’s the red dates and longan doing their thing). Sugar’s optional. Most don’t bother.

How to Prepare

1. Bag in the mug.
2. Water over the top, just off the boil if you can manage it.
3. Leave it be, 3–5 mins. Wander off, check the post.
4. Fish the bag out. Best drunk hot, before you forget about it.
